SCALEXTRIC C3725 CHEVROLET CAMARO 1969 – SCCA TRAN AM. WATKINS GLEN. 1971

 

In the 1971 SCCA Trans Am at Watkins Glen Swede Savage qualified in third position just behind the Ford Mustang driven by George Follmer and the AMC Javelin driven by Roger Penske. The race though, didn’t go to plan. The car’s harmonic balancer couldn’t take the strain of the race and exploded! This caused shrapnel to go straight through the oil lines with only one out come – Swede Savage’s race was over.
